Of course obviously this is being a common question arising intensively in the minds of Non-Tamilians. Even many other people has told me “kya re…he is a common actor with no extraordinary talent, no physical fairness (hell with costume designers), does warm up exercises in the name of dance, shows super heroism far than the limits of imagination (even Christopher Nolan will faint), exaggerates common words in the name of Punch dialogues very contemptuously, annoys by smashing more than hundred gym boys in a single stroke, etc…”.
Why you people are so obsessed to him? What did he do to you personally? He may be a successful personality, but what’s there in him so specially than others? Why do you celebrate an old man’s film like a festival? Are you in 21st century or somewhere? Why people are extolling his on screen performances which look funny for us? And even somebody has asked simply “are you mad?”
Needless to say, everybody knows that Rajinikanth has gone to the unfathomable reaches of fame. But herewith I try to convince the people who think that he doesn’t deserve whatever he possesses. Of course we everybody (here I use ‘we’ to mention Rajini fans) know and adore his mastery over style, delivery of speech, exceptional humor blended with his innocence poses, thought provoking punch dialogues (coincidentally it implicates at many occasions in our life) spoken at befitting situations, inspiring body language (even soft skill mentors can grasp things in him) and especially his simplicity in all his endeavors. Nevertheless, there are lot more things to gratify about his both professional and personal life, but herewith I try to convince the Non Rajini fans and Rajini haters or even to people who thinks him as a mere undeserved icon (esp., North Indians and they make fun of him too). Henceforth the later phrases engraved in this blog were especially for those persons who has in their mind as I stated in first two paragraphs.
First of all, the crown that he bears has not been awarded overnight or even a quite long period. It’s all because of his 35 years of his hard work which is a too long way to go for anybody. He gradually embarked his career from a film institute to showcase his own talent with the advice of his peers. Earlier before he made his debut as an actor, many people were impressed at his dramas and stage shows done by him at streets and shows where his pouch was full of acting scopes and not the “bloody luck” as people says now. A deliberate decision to transfigure his small roles and villain roles to a dignified hero was a turning point and there by his journey started and his career graph elevated by his shrewd selection of films and roles.
Nevertheless, concerned about his on screen performances, people comment that he surpasses audience’s expectations just by his style, punch dialogues and time passing comedies. But to my belief I can certainly say that Rajini is one of those very rare artists who can make you think yourself as the character while watching. Apart from the pakka commercials he does in recent years, his character role films depicted him as a good artist who can transfer his feelings and emotions penetrate into your thoughts and make you feel as yourself into that situation. This job can’t be done even by other prominent actors, wherein they can only perform their acting and get appraised; even he/she wins a national award.
Even still now I have witnessed in many places in and around of my areas, wherein almost all people will go for theatre as a family to only rajini films. Only his films will be watched by almost all families even though they hate/uninterested to watch movies at theatres. The power he has in his eyes at scenes of emotional and critical oath taking situations (either while developing self or to take revenge-please don laugh) render a rejuvenation to make get our nerves on and his mastery over those moments are indescribable.
An outlined funny statement described about him is that in most of his films, he just becomes the richest person in just a flip of song which is contradictorily illogical or senseless. (Ha ha, even I get laugh at some times to imagine). But people should think that they were completely not illogical. In film it may be a five minute song, but as per story it would have depicted as duration of some years of time. We should realize the fact that a timeline of about 10 or 20 years can’t be shown completely in a short duration of the film. So it’s certainly possible whatever he becomes in his films (* terms and conditions apply*).
The best example I can quote is, “his life story”. If when we see a person who is a conductor, becomes enthusiastic, migrate to other state, work hard and enter into cine field (that too with a poor complexion which is unimaginable); emerges as a hero soon; liked by all people and wins over the heart of them; then climbs up to top most actor (even when he is utterly bitterly black) and becomes India’s top paid actor (of course Asia’s second) and even wished by his massive number of fans to become chief minister of state; everything if we see just within a song of five minutes, ya of course nobody will feel logical and they will tend to laugh at that. But, the fact is that all can happen in real life and he himself proved to be an example of that.
Finally I end up with the most cherishing word for his fans, “Thalaivaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!! “
